The NFT wearables from Xtep, a Chinese sportswear maker, have been released! During a press conference on Sunday, they unveiled a new collection of athletic clothing. In addition, the company announced the launch of 321 NFTs. They’re known as “virtual running shoes” in China.

The NFTs, nicknamed “160X-Metaverse,” sold out in 70 minutes, according to Xtep. Each NFT cost 1,603 yuan ($251) to purchase. The digital shoes are more expensive than the original 160X running shoes, which cost 999 yuan each.

According to Xtep, the business is developing a “Runner’s Metaverse” and a “sports + digital economy” model utilizing blockchain technology. The company didn’t say if they planned to extend the metaverse.

Xtep is just one of the many fashion companies that have sprung up in recent years.
