A lugless case design remains the calling card in this, the third piece from San Francisco’s Xetum. The Kendrick took a detour and is named for a summit in Yosemite (pat on back for those who guessed that); but, like its predecessors it’s all about classic looks with a stylish twist of modernity. Striped Nato straps and easy reading dials lend the avant-garde; dial colours include black and white and, for the more adventurous, a variation featuring electric blue hands. Water resistance to an impressive 100m protects an opulently indulgent feature piece: a non-circular sapphire embedded in the case (this being steel and measuring a smallish 40mm in width). Powered by Swiss ETA 2824 movement and solidly clean in design, it’s yours for US$995.
