Writing Challenge 59

By Brian Abbott

Is it a dark tower? Rapunzel’s tower? Just what is this  medieval structure that looms before you? Is it our reality or something from a fantasy world?

Architecture, like art, can spur writers to delve into the possibilities of what did/could/will take place in the buildings and structures that we see in our travels. These incredible spaces that architects have imagined and formed into reality can bestir our imaginations and inspire stories waiting to be told.

What will you write?

Each month, The Poisoned Martini presents a photo to spark your creativity. Because of their visual nature, images vividly speak to writers and spark ideas for writing.  View the photo above, ponder what you see, and then put pen to paper or finger to keyboard.  Write a scene, a short story, a chapter, a novella, or maybe even a novel.

Last month’s challenge featured a traditional Maine lobster dinner. The photo was snapped prior to enjoying the meal at country club on Bar Harbor in August 2016.
