I’ve never done anything like this, but someone told me it was impossible to write a marketing plan in 15 minutes a day. Plus they were really snotty and condescending about it. So of course being a double Scorpio redheaded 100% Celt I need to shout ”FREEDOM” and prove this powerful corporate marketer wrong. You know who you are. (Okay, I have to admit I had a hard time choosing between a William Wallace shout out and Inigo Montoya.)
Basically this is what I’m going to do. Every week of December you’ll be given a task per day to complete that should only take 15 minutes or so. The tasks will be Monday through Friday, so you can catch up on the weekend anytime, or do two tasks in a day, however you want to handle it. If you perform every microstep, at the end of December you’ll have all the components of a simple 2015 marketing plan.
If you already do robust market planning for your business this is not for you. If you try to do a marketing plan every year and get too busy, this is for you. If you sort of did a plan but couldn’t really act on it in 2014, this is for you. Small businesses, consultants, B2B or B2C this will work. I promise.
Over the next four weeks we’ll prepare the following components of your plan:
- Goals
- Target Audience
- Strategies
- Tactics
- Measurements
Seriously, marketing doesn’t have to be complicated. And a simple plan is better than nothing because you have to market in a way that is consistent and persistent in order to stay ahead. So join me this month. As a special bonus if you tweet, blog or promote this series in some way I’ll review your final plan with you in a free, one hour consultation.
I’ve never done this, but now I’m pissed off.
