If any of you guys are homeowners or have an interest in home decor, you probably have heard the saying that it takes at least a full year to get your place set up the way you would like it. Well, my hubby and I have been in our new home a little over a year now, and we aren’t even close to getting everything set up and decorated how we would like!
Finding the right pieces, not to mention saving up for them is super time consuming and a tad frustrating. Some of the things we’re saving for is a new couch, a new bedroom set – our new bedroom is way bigger than it was in our old place and while that’s definitely a plus, the room makes our old furniture look super tiny – not such a plus, and not to mention all of the little odds and ends that make a house a home i.e. curtains, artwork, decorative accessories, etc.
In the meantime, I spend a lot of my free time scouring the internets for home decor inspiration. I love decor with a bit of color and character, which is what we’re looking to infuse in our home throughout our decorating process. I personally happen to think that the rooms in today’s home inspiration lineup are nothing short of amazing and they demonstrate how a few strategic pops of color (hello, overused blogger phrase! LOL) and interesting accessories can go a long way. I’m ok with waiting and saving another year or two to finish decorating if the end results will turn out something like these. It definitely would be worth the wait!
