Former United Nations worker Gerry Lane must join the race against time to save the world from a zombie pandemic which is threatening to destroy humanity.

There’s no messing about with the opening scene of the film as we see a normal family about to start what they thought would be a very standard and normal day, only for something to start attacking. That being a mysterious infection which turns humans into zombies, the cars all over the place certainly set the scene for the how the film is going to go.
Obviously if Lane had not been a former United Nations employee he probably wouldn’t have survived that intital attack and is helped by a former colleague and friend. That would come at a price though as he must then travel around the world attempting to find where it all started and what potential cure could be used.
This does generate more action packed scenes as we see the struggle of people battling to survive, how strong can people be to ensure that happens? That they will be the ones who don’t become zombies. What happens if it is someone in your family, what choice do you make then? I always find that is something a film like this makes you think.
Creating a good level of tension at times and wondering what exactly is going to happen next and just how bad things are going to get for Gerry and those who are attempting to help humanity.
This is a film that I actually remember seeing at the cinema on release and have no clue at all how or why I never actually reviewed it!
Anyway Brad Pitt is always just a joy to watch isn’t he, well I think so and that is probably the main reason I decided to watch this again. He carries the whole film theres no two ways about it and seeing him in that protective role is very good.
