World Series Game 4 – Must Win For The Red Sox

So, as a Red Sox fan I’ve done a pretty shitty job of rooting for my team the last two games.  I’m the first to admit it.  Not entirely my fault but I could have done a better job of finding myself in front of a television for games 2 and 3.  However, here we are 2-1 Cardinals and Game 4 hanging on the tired of arm of Clay Buchholz.  I’m not going to say I’m worried, but I’m calling this a must win because the team needs this one bad.  Games 2 and 3 have been lost on poor decision making leading to throws that have resulted in the Cardinals scoring the winning run.  In game 2, Craig Breslow chucked a ball into the left field stands when he should have just stuck it in his glove.  Last night, Salty should have just eaten that throw to third and given the Sox a chance to get the third out any number of normal ways.  Just like that we’re down a game.

Can Clay Buchholz deliver tonight?

Can Clay Buchholz deliver tonight?

So yeah, must win tonight.  Bats need to come alive and give Buchholz and the rest of the bullpen some support like game 1.  Quick question, why the HELL is Stephen Drew still playing?  Why is Will Middlebrooks buried on the bench?  Did Middlebrooks pants John Farrell in the locker room at some point during the ALCS?  Did Drew catch Farrell doing something inappropriate and is holding it over his head by demanding playing time?  I mean, it makes ZERO sense why a guy who is pretty much a guaranteed out is in the lineup, especially when the pitcher is batting 2 spots behind him.

Seriously, we need to win this one tonight.  Just no reason to let it get to 3-1 with one more game in St. Louis.

P.S. We definitely beat Lance Lynn, right?  No reason this kid beats us.
