World’s First 105 5K Television Introduced by LG

Once upon a time, there wasn't any television in the world. Yes, I'm old enough to be able to recall that time. And I can recall that when there were no telly characters to intrude into our lives, socializing and visiting each other was how people entertained themselves. Then televisions slowly started appearing. In India, the first televisions too acted in bringing people closer together. When there was only one TV in the entire neighbourhood, families from many homes used to crowd up in one small living room to watch Chitrahaar, or movies and of course blockbuster shows like Ramayan and Mahabharat.

Then TV became a necessity and entered in every home. And we closed our doors to our neighbours and opened up our hearts to the television stars instead. From Black & White to Colour to Flat Screen to LCD ...the Idiot Box kept on getting smarter and smarter. And now we actually have television called Smart TV. Not just that, now we also have televisions that can cost more than a house!

Yes, in the recently held Tech Show by LG, a new TV was launched. A television with a huge screen and a huge price tag. This is LG's new 105UC9T 105 5K TV. It has truly eye-catching 266cm screen. As yet, I don't think we have any 5K suitable television broadcasts in India. But the images that were being shown on this TV at the tech show truly looked mesmerizing and amazingly crisp and clear. After all, the television boasts of having 21:9 wide screen, 11 million pixels and 5120 X 2160 resolution. The screen is Ultra HD and the television is also equipped with a 4K 3D+ feature. That, I suppose, means that it can turn content into 3D?

Complementing the visual excellence of this 5K televisions is the 7.2 channel sound system designed by Harman/Kardon with 150W power.

I wish I could tell you how it was in appearance. But what to do? I was so caught up with admiring its display that I totally failed to notice how it looked otherwise.

Anyway, it is a Smart TV. it comes installed with LG Smart+TV WebOS that ought to make browsing through the televisions channels, adjusting its setting and using various Smart apps and services easier.

And supporting this Smart TV is a Smart remote. LG calls it Magic Motion Remote. This remote allows controlling the television by using its pointing, wheel and voice features. I haven't used it so I can't really say exactly how efficient or user-friendly it is.

As good as the TV sounds and looks, it sadly isn't meant for every home or pocket. Its size demands a spacious room and its price demands a hefty budget. Yes, this 105 5K TV by LG is priced at MRP Rs. 59,99,900/-
