I really enjoy working with soft pastels. I see wonderfully detailed pastel paintings by others and marvel at them, but my favoured way of working is big sweeping strokes with lots of energy. I've added a couple of these, made as studies toward the Rock Art prints I'm planning, into the previous post.
One day I must buy some larger sheets of tinted pastel paper and try to do something that has this sort of freedom and energy, but is hopefully a tad more disciplined, to see if I can make something that might be called a finished piece and not just a study.
