In an effort to get more women involved in the cryptocurrency industry and encourage them to participate in Web3, Abu Dhabi officials have partnered with a service provider to make free crypto domains available to women in the UAE.
Access Abu Dhabi and the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) have partnered with the Web3 Identity Platform and NFT Unstoppable domains to make free cryptocurrency domains available to all women in the UAE capital.
In a country experiencing quick economic development and where women now control nearly half of all small and medium-sized companies, the program aims to increase the number of companies which owned by minorities and women.
The idea was announced during a delegation visit to Abu Dhabi by the ‘Women of Web3’, a group of American women internet entrepreneurs researching the emirate as a center for global growth. Access Abu Dhabi, a Maven Global Access initiative designed by ADIO, hosted the delegation.
The partners think that the project has the potential to offer Abu Dhabi women a transformative opportunity to invest from Web3 perspective. To clarify, they mention that this provides people with a decentralized web address and digital identity which gives them complete control over their data and content in a place that is completely their own, unlike Web2 domains, that are leased for a certain period of time through third-party brokers.
