The Ambalangoda Police said the Balapitiya Magistrate granted permission to detain and question the woman who was arrested in connection with the
shooting of Dhanuka Soysa, the Deputy Principal of the Ambalangoda Dharmashoka Vidyalaya.
She was taken into custody by a team on the instructions of Officer-In-Charge of the Ambalangoda Police Chief Inspector Prasanna Elgiriyage on charges of aiding and abetting the shooting Randombe in Ambalangoda on May 26.
When this woman was produced before the Balapitiya Magistrate’s Court on June 22, permission had been granted to detain her and question her further. She is a resident of Moratuwa.
