Global music and entertainment company, Warner Music Group (WMG), revealed its collaboration with leading NFT marketplace, OpenSea, to give chosen WMG artists a platform to create and grow their fan community.
In this collaboration, WMG artists will be given early entry to the OpenSea’s new “drops” product, a dedicated customized NFT landing page with personalized storytelling for hosting limited-edition NFT projects, plus OpenSea’s safety and security features.
The customized landing page offers WMG artists entry to dedicated support and best practices from the OpenSea team, helping WMG artists create new Web3 communities, and existing fan communities with the new forms of communication and creativity offered by NFTs.
“For artists and musicians, NFTs offer a new innovative medium and a mechanism to build community, engage directly with fans, and express themselves across borders and languages,” said Shiva Rajaraman, Vice President of Product, OpenSea. “As a huge music fan myself, I’m excited to cooperate with a partner who understands the importance of this tech and aims to use it forever – to empower artists to connect directly with their fans. We are excited to offer the support and organization to help welcome the Warner family of artists into the appealing NFT ecosystem”.
The initial series is now in development with Warner Records UK in association with Web3 company, Probably Nothing.
WMG has signed several NFT contracts as part of its strategy to strengthen its presence in the Web3 space. The previous May, the company signed a collaboration with Warner Music Group (WMG) to develop avatars and NFTs for WMG’s artists.
In January, the music company teamed up with OneOf to create artist and music NFTs. After one month, WMG cooperated with leading blockchain game developer Splinterlands to bring artists in play-to-earn gaming.
“Basic to music’s DNA, is community – it’s artists and fans gather to celebrate the music they love. Our partnership with OpenSea will facilitate these communities help by opening up Web3 tools and resources to create chances for artists to create deeper engagement, entry, and ownership”, stated Oana Ruxandra, Chief Digital Officer and EVP, Business Development.
