Story: Witch starts when a horrific crime happens in a small English town. Judge Hopkins (Jordan) is leading the trial of the murderer who has a connection to witchcraft. However, before the trial Twyla (Marks) is warned she will get accused at the trial.
Twyla and her husband William (Spong) go on the run searching for the real witch. It leads them to a curse which was once left in the woods. Now, they must figure out how to clear her name, as the religious group search for Twyla to end the curse they see is upon them.
Verdict on Witch
Witch is a horror thriller following a small English town that suffers a horrendous crime. The fingers point toward witchcraft and soon the accusations start spreading. One couple must search for answers before they become the latest victims of the lynch mob.
This uses the old-world belief that witches walk among humans to conduct evil. It uses evil ideas well, even if it takes a lot longer than it needs to explain the bigger problem rather than deal with it. When it comes to the mystery of the connection, it ends up feeling a lot more interesting and gets to dive deeper into things people of the era wouldn’t consider. Sadly, it never feels as scary as presented and ends up leaving us wanting more.
Where to Watch

Final Thoughts – Witch creates an interesting mystery but lacks the scares to go with it.
