Winter wonderland arrangement

While some people may not enjoy the colder months of winter, others see the beauty that this season brings - including fluffy white snow. Celebrate the beauty of this season when you make your very own winter wonderland display.

Supplies needed:

  • One cornet (available at your florist and in different sizes)
  • Floral foam
  • Florabond
  • White feathers
  • Five white flowers (roses or carnations are best)
  • Sheer ribbon
  • Decorative wire
  • Glue gun

Method:

  • Cover your cornet with the ribbon. Glue the end of the ribbon at the base of the cornet before slowly winding it up to the top.
  • Cut the end of the ribbon once you reach the top and glue the top end in place.
  • Cut some decorative wire and glue it to the bottom of the cornet. Twist the wire upwards and tuck it inside the cornet. Glue to secure it in place.
  • Put a small piece of florabond inside the edge of the cornet.
  • Cut and round off a piece of floral foam to fit the cornet and dampen it. The foam should be three inches taller than the cornet.
  • Place the foam inside the cornet and make sure that it's secure.
  • Add some feathers around the base of the floral foam and then add your flowers until all of the foam is successfully concealed.
  • You can also create a hook should you wish to hang the design from a chair or pew. Make a hook from the ribbon and attach it to the by gluing or stapling to the cornet. You can also use wire to hang them but you will need to pierce the cornet to secure it properly.
