Salvadores is located in Central Mall – MG Road, Bangalore, taking the fine dining experience to the next level. With French cuisine in its folio the menu here comprises of the classics! The ambiance is neat as well as rustic giving it an old school charm. There are two types of seating arrangement one inside and other under the moon with a lovely view of Bangalore’s skyline. With a total capacity of close to 80 seats; service is the main focus here. Even the music has been chosen to suit the ambiance. The restaurant even has a wall of fame and a insightful history of the owner’s on its walls.
With French cuisine as focal point, Salvadores has a fascinating display of wines from all over the world. You can find both the international as well as local wines at display. To make things even more interesting they have temperature controlled wooden barrels to keep their wine, the first of its kind in Bangalore. We even tried the Black Tower Riesling from Germany, which was citrusy and not very acidic. With most of the restaurants choosing their menu randomly, at Salvadores the focus is very clear. Don’t forget to try their pre-set menu available during lunch hours! We tried couple of items from the menu:
Grilled Paneer Skewers – Cottage Cheese Skewers with capsicum and tomato. The skewers were grilled to perfection as it assimilated all the charred taste from the grill. Served with pesto mayo the combo was amazing!
Tomato Bruschetta – Bruschetta topped with garlic, tomatoes and cheese with drizzle of olive oil. Simple yet delicious.
Watermelon with Feta Cheese – This classic dish is made with 3 ingredients only. Watermelon topped with feta cheese and fresh mint! Can’t go wrong with it!
Cream of Mushroom Soup – The Mushroom soup was made with olive oil and was creamy to the core. With fresh cracked pepper and garlic foam on top, it was fantastic! Don’t miss it!
Spaghetti Aglio Olio – Made with extra virgin olive oil tossed with olives, jalapenos, carrots, zucchini and broccoli and served with garlic bread on the side, it was mind blowing in taste! Fantastic is just an understatement for this vintage dish!
Blueberry Cheesecake – Fresh baked cheesecake topped with blueberries and a light crumble at the bottom. Every bite just melts in the mouth.
Chocolate Rum Tart – Classic rum tart with soft crumble at the bottom. The balance of flavors between chocolate and rum is what makes it so unique.
Some of the other items that you can order from the menu are Herb infused grilled tenderloin, Moroccan roast chicken, Mediterranean grilled chicken and the Chimichurri fish steak. If you are looking to go “Down Memory Lane” then pick these 2 items – Grandma’s roast chicken and the Traditional fish pie (but requiring advance notice).
The food at Salvadores is fantastic topped with impeccable service. Hats off to Chef Sundar for serving us dishes outside of the menu. And thanks to Mr. Cyrus for the hospitality and the history! This was indeed an experience down memory lanes!
