Microsoft well understands the needs and requirements of the users. With higher dependencies on search engines and help menus, Windows has recently announced about a feature named as “Smart Search” to be powered in Bing operated systems. The OS Windows 8.1 would be featuring Smart Search. The operation of PC is a learning process. The users learn to operate PC either manually or with the help of Search or Help menus. There are situations wherein the user finds it really hard to get an answer to his or her query in the search menus. As a result, the user either gets panicked or disappointed. Hence, Microsoft is going to roll out its wonderful and spectacular feature Smart Search which would understand every query of the person.

With Smart Search, the users can now type the instructions or queries in their desired manner. For example, if the user finds the screen to be high on contrast and wants to reduce it then he or she can write “My Screen is high on Contrast”. Smart Search would immediately search the matched solution and direct to the solution. Smart Search is user friendly. It can also be utilized by a layman with great ease. Microsoft expects Smart Search to understand the commands that are mentioned in natural language. The feature should bring an ease to the search activities for any problem or query. In a recent post on their blog “Bing blog”, Microsoft said, “Based on the most common tasks people perform on Windows 8, we are taking steps to allow Smart Search to showcase results based on natural language understanding. Now when I search for ‘install a printer’, Smart Search will show me that the function resides within ‘Device Settings’ so I can take action with a simple click.”

The introduction and announcement of Smart Search was made in the month of October 2013 when Microsoft made official news about it. Microsoft announced Smart Search parallel to the launch of Windows 8.1. Smart Search is a universal search platform which can easily look out for photo albums, cloud files, documents, apps and every other favorite website which the user wants to have an access to. Smart Search is capable of understanding voice commands as well as manual typing. With this brilliant feature, the user would not require to brainstorm about searching the right command from the settings option. Smart Search being an intelligent system would be able to take this ahead in the right manner. With this constant effort, Microsoft is trying to come up with newer and smarter options which can equip well with Smart Search.

The Windows phone users can now easily download “Smart Search” once it is rolled out in market. Smart Search is available in the Windows Phone Store post its official launch.
