The novelty of lockdown may well be waning, but there is no reason why you can't still have fun whilst being stuck at home! There have been giggles aplenty recently thanks to Shake Off, a fabulous game from John Adams that Liv and I have been putting to the test recently. It's a very active game, so I would suggest not playing this if you have just eaten, but read on to find out how you can win a Shake Off game!

How To Play The Shake Off Game

The aim of the game is to be the person/team with the most shakes. Use the spin board to find out where you need to attach the Shake-O-Meter (wrist/ankle/waist or back of trousers) and which activity you need to complete. Activities include jumping, running and free style, set the timer for 15 or 30 seconds and away you go. The more you move, the more shakes your Shake-O-Meter will record!

We started with 30 second sessions but by the end had reduced this to 15 seconds on the timer - be warned, it is knackering! If you play in a team then you have the option for a break, but just two players and you will find yourself moving constantly!

Don't worry if you do not have much free space to move, you can simply jump on the spot/ run on the spot and freestyle on the spot! The Shake-O-Meters have a slider and the first team to 5 set wins will be crowned the Shake Off Champions. The meters are sturdy and have a strong clip to attach to the sweat band, so don't worry about these flying off if you have an energetic boost whilst shaking! They do feature a reset button to refresh the tally to 0 for the next activity set.

We have noticed the Shake-O-Meters do work better when recording up and down movements, so just bear this is mind!

The Shake Off game instructions are featured on the inside of the box lid. The game is really easy to understand and follow but it is rather handy having the instructions to hand to give you some pointers.

The Shake-O-Meters work immediately but you will need 2 x AAA batteries for use in the timer. It's colourful, engaging, certainly very active and more importantly... fun! This was just what we needed this week, especially with the weather meaing walks have been put on hold. It has been a great mood booster during lockdown and definitely guarantees smiles and laughter... make sure you have a bottle of water to hand too!

Priced around £19.99, you can purchase Shake Off from retailers such as Smyths, Amazon and more.
