Williamsport Has Three Medalists in the PIAA Class AAA Wrestling Tournament.

HERSHEY — Playing two-on-two NBA 2k with five people is difficult. One person must sit at the back of the hotel room to chirp the rest.

Williamsport’s five state-qualifying wrestlers would eat together, watch movies, and grind Xbox.

These are the moments Cael Nasdeo and twins Riley and Braden bower, Charles Crews, Roman Morrone, and Roman Morrone will most miss.

Crews stated, “Coming together and being in a position to achieve this outcome, it’s great.” “Twenty years later, when we come back together, there’s going to be a lot to talk about.”

A sensational season for Millionaires ended in Saturday’s Class AAA tournament at Giant Center. Crews, Riley Bower, and Nasdeo all made it to the top.

In a 4-0 loss, Nasdeo was defeated by Zachary Jacaruso (Delaware Valley), the eventual state champion at 113 pounds. Naddeo, who had been battling injury for most of the season, was forced to withdraw from the rest of the state tournament. He earned a sixth-place finish.

It’s bittersweet. Naddeo stated, “I thought I wrestled really, very well.” “A little beaten up, it wasn’t worth it to wrestle any matches. That last match was a bit too painful for me.

At the end of the third period, the Penn State commit was down by 1-0, just before Jacaruso made an almost-fall in the final minute.

“I have no issues with my semifinal matchup at any time,” Nasdeo stated on Jacaruso that he is a tough kid. “I thought I had him cranked out about perfect. I lost the state title last season because of that one turn against me.”

Crews began the day with two pins, which negated his chances of achieving his 100th career victory. Crews were fifth at heavyweight, beating Greensburg Salem’s Billy Mcchesney 2-1.

Crews finished varsity competition with 99 wins, placing in the top five states and at Fargo. Crews did what he does best: do what he does every day.

He kept going.

“I feel like I didn’t do enough, you know?” Crews stated that she worked hard to win the win but couldn’t. Crews added, “I just kept trying to get the next best thing.” “When I realized that I wasn’t going to get first, I kept telling myself, “Get third.” When I couldn’t get third, I told myself, “Get fifth.”‘”

Before the end of the day, Braden Bower was eliminated, and Morrone was eliminated. Crews lost to Riley Bower in the first match of the day. Riley Bower made a comeback.

Riley Bower defeated Griffin Walizer from Central Mountain 4-2 to win the seventh-place medal. It was a successful varsity career.

Riley Bower stated, “It was bittersweet to see Braden lose right before I went out on the mat to wrestle.” “We are all one family. We’ll be talking to each other for a while. It’s also a way to keep Braden company for a while.

The Millionaires will most likely be going their ways, but the Bower twins and Bucknell will see them wrestle at Bucknell.

Brian Nasdeo, Williamsport’s coach, was named Pennsylvania Wrestling Coaches Association Class AAA Coaches Association Coach. It is understandable.

The 2021-22 season saw the Millionaires achieve their highest finish at the Top Hat in the mid-90s. They won their first-ever King of the Mountain title, placed in the top 20 of the Powerade, and took first place in both states and districts. This was Central Mountain’s first dual meet loss since joining the HAC conference. It also nearly tied the program record for the most state tournament-bound wrestlers.

It’s wonderful to see him receive the award. “He’s a great coach and has done everything for this program, not only me, but every one the past ten years, taking it to new heights,” Nasdeo stated on Brian.

Naddeo, the only junior, made the trip to Hershey despite losing many of his closest friends. Before saying goodbye, the group met up on the Giant Center floor one more time.

“It’s going be difficult. “I was thinking about it last night. This is the last time that I wrestle with these men,” Nasdeo stated. We still have some good kids next year. Some of the backups have continued to come even though they haven’t wrestled. Although it will be difficult to fill these spots, they may do more.
