We’ve been listening to a lot of Steven Wright, Demitri Martin and Mitch Hedberg in the office lately, so I’ve begun to deeply appreciate the art of a well-crafted one-liner. This outdoor advertising campaign for NBC’s Whitney made me chuckle in that it’s-kinda-funny-because-it’s-kinda-true way. So my interest is piqued, but personally, I have little faith that the show will be nearly as funny as its billboards. According to some early reviews, I’m not the only one. At least the marketers behind the show did something besides the gratuitous star shot. It’s sure to spark a lot of conversations between husbands and wives stuck in traffic.
