Will Smith Slap DAO Sells $45k in NFT in a Single Day

The Oscars slap of Chris Rock by Will Smith has been transformed into an NFT collection. So far, Opensea marketplace user ‘Will Smith Slap DAO’ has sold 730 for $7 to $300.

Will Smith slaps NFTs – one-of-a-kind collectible non-fungible tokens, or ‘non-fungible slaps’ — were manufactured by the diligent NFT artist, who refers to himself as a DAO (decentralized autonomous organization).

The NFTs generally show Will Smith slapping comedian Chris Rock, or Smith’s reaction to a joke about his wife’s haircut, as well as basic traits and aspects like meme text and border colors.

‘WGMI’ (we are going to make it), ‘in it for the tech,’ ‘paper hand,’ ‘damp it,’ ‘when Coinbase,’ and ‘can devs do something?’ are just a few examples of cryptocurrency-related memes.

Although there are others, there are only 1270 pieces left in this Will Smith Slap NFT collection. The current floor price is 0.002 ETH (Ethereum), which is around $7.

As a result, the cheapest one is now about $7. More attractive mid-range tokens are going for $15 to $30 on the popular NFT marketplace.

Opensea user ompsyram, who is also a Nikon India brand ambassador and artist, received one of the most expensive sales. He paid 0.1 ETH (about $330) for Will Smith Slap DAO #892, which has Will Smith’s face with the text ‘Brokensea’ and a green border.

The total amount of Will Smith slap NFTs transferred at the time of writing was 13.5 ETH, or moreover $45,000.

Will they turn out to be a wise investment in the long run? Are they the next generation of monkeys that are bored out of their minds? There are a limited number of them. Everything is possible in the universe of NFT. The NFT and cryptocurrency markets are showing signs of life, with Bitcoin momentarily crossing the $48,000 level.
