The BSNL 5G service will jointly operate the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and the Center for Development of Telematics (C-Dot).
Shubhordeep Chakraborty, Kolkata: BSNL is set to launch 5G service on the way shown by Geo, Airtel and Vodafone Idea. According to the company, there are plans to start this service as soon as possible. BSNL CMD, Robert J Robbie announced that BSNL 5G could be launched first in a city in the country. Recently, Union Communications Minister Jotiraditya Sindia made a positive comment on the BSNL 5G service.

According to Robert J Robbie, BSNL's 3G service will be launched initially in some selected cities within the next few months. He said that this network service will be launched first in Delhi. The Network-Az-A-Servis (NAAS) model will be used. He emphasized that the company aims to accelerate the process. Besides, the service will be expanded as soon as possible.

Significantly, BSNL examined a pilot with 3G services in Delhi last year with the help of local partners. It is reported that BSNL will jointly operate the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and the Center for Development of Telematics (C-Dot). Contextually, these two companies are also employed in BSNL's 1 lakh 3G site.
CMD Robert J Robi added that 5G will benefit both the technology industry and the community, especially the people of rural areas. When the 5G service is launched, the BSNL will be in a better position to compete with private telecom operators in the service. He said that the government has allocated more than Tk 1.5 crore to revive BSNL in last year's budget, which highlights the promise of increasing the capacity of the company.
