Wilder Style: Pamela Love for J.Crew (or) Gimme This Outfit (please?)
By Thewilderthings @TheWilderThingsI know, I know, two posts in two days about a J.Crew collaboration? I'd apologize if those espadrilles from yesterday and the belt above weren't so totally awesome. Look at it; the leather, the studs, the chevron designs...it would lend a bit of rock n' roll spunk to whatever you paired it with. So what would I pair it with? Read on to find out.
Well, to start, it wouldn't hurt to pair a Pamela Love for J.Crew belt with the Pamela Love for J.Crew jeans. The collaboration is a part of the CDFA/Vogue Fashion Fund competition, the winner of which got to design about nine pieces for J.Crew (the winner was Altuzzara; remember this post?). Pamela Love was one of the runners up, and she designed a three piece collection for the store: a jean jacket, pants, and the belt above. The pants, below, are a boyfriend cut, distressed jean, and they have that awesome, slightly gritty aesthetic that I tend to go for:
I'd be tempted to throw rock n' roll for a loop and wear both with a nicely tailored shirt like this silk Equipment number:
And then maybe throw on a tweed jacket, like this Rag & Bone one in turquoise:
On the other hand, you could really rock the boy look and wear the pants and belt with the T from Rag & Bone, below. It's a men's shirt, made from Peruvian flame cotton (whatever that is--it looks great, though), and I think it could be a fun way to go tomboy with the look. Especially if you pair it with strappy heels, because there's nothing like a fashion curve-ball to keep the world on it's toes. I've always been one for juxtaposition; if it works in poetry, it can work in an outfit.
