Wilder Style: Norse Projects (or) Sweaters in the Heat?
I'm back in Massachusetts for a few meetings for a day and a half, and let me tell you, I'd forgotten how big the difference is in temperature between summer in Maine and summer in Boston. It is HOT here. And while I'm feeling a little faint and I can't stop sweating (soooo attractive) I kind of like it; the heat is enveloping and oppressive, yes, but like any good New Englander, it's good to have weather to complain about, because we must complain about the weather. It's always either too hot or too cold; we're impossible to please. Which makes for an unsettling few weeks each spring and fall when the weather is divine and there is literally nothing over which to make a fuss.
But I digress; I bring up the heat to tell you that in order for me to post about anything with sleeves right now, the thing with sleeves has got to be pretty damn good. And this sweater, along with everything else I'm about to show you from Norse Projects, makes the cut (more after the jump).
I've written about Norse Projects before in a post about Concepts in Harvard Square, but this time they get their very own post. The brand is based in Copenhagen, and infuses the minimalist look of Scandinavian design into really awesome clothes. It's my ideal aesthetic; masculine yet elegant, subtle yet bold. The sweater above was a 2012 collaboration with Oi Polloi that is now sold out, sadly, but I thought it was so good-looking that I'm posting about it now regardless. Sorry for getting your sweaty hopes up.
Here, however, are a few things you can have now. And probably should have now, even though you couldn't wear it now without getting heat stroke. But Denmark is far north; maybe in the evenings it's sweater weather, so you could always buy a plane ticket to go with your sleeves if you're really desperate to wear them immediately.

This Agni Knit looks like something Hemingway would've worn, so I'm obviously into it.

This Elka Sporty Jacket is hard to look at without really sweating. Such little ventilation. But it's awesome and probably waterproof. Which I could have used yesterday when caught in a downpour in Harvard Square before a meeting...the drowned rat look was a good look, let me tell you.
