Brits love a party trick and going 'cross-eyed', twitching your nose and rolling your tongue have been found to be the most common of them all.

Raising one eyebrow has been deemed impossible by many, but one in seven bendy Brits regularly show off to their friends with the trick.

One Brit said in the survey of 2,000 UK adults that they can blow music through their nose, while another takes pride in balancing hard boiled eggs on their nose.

Raising one eyebrow, cracking joints and catching things in their mouth from afar are other common tricks amongst Brits.

A spokesman from Ripley's Believe It or Not! London which commissioned the survey, said: "Party tricks are a bit of fun that many people will love or hate.

"The most common ones such as going 'cross-eyed' and rolling your tongue will still make others squirm not matter how often you see it.

"But we're impressed by the more unusual ones such as turning your eyelids inside out and double rolling your tongue.

"We're interested to see that there are people out there who can click their tongue and even eat slices of lemon without flinching.

"And we can safely say that according to this survey, there are people out there who really can tie a cherry stalk with their tongue."

Office party-goers will see fellow employees licking their own elbows, moonwalking and touching their nose with their tongue.

They may even get treated to a few 'wiggling ears', the 'splits' or a work colleague putting their leg behind their own head.

Only one in 17 Brits are able to make a chicken out of a tea-towel, however.

And it seems that the ability to complete little gimmicks can run in the family as more than one quarter of Brits said at least one child can do them too.

The most common trick amongst the younger generation turned out to be 'rolling their tongue' and one in 10 believe they can lick their own elbow.

Those who have revealed their party tricks to friends and family have found that laughter is the most common reaction.

But six per cent are greeted with a sense of disgust or confusion when they show off their 'skills'.

Many 'talented' Brits have suggested that they have hidden their abilities in fear of people thinking 'they were odd'.

Some even admitted they were 'embarrassed' that they were able to do unusual things with their bodies.

The study revealed that one in 10 Brits have admitted to telling a 'little white lie' and announcing they can do a certain 'party trick' when they truth is they can't.
But almost four in 10 said they actively encouraged people to show off their party tricks to others around them.

And it seems that one in five Brits will already have, or be planning to show off their 'skills' at the work Christmas party this year.

The spokesman added: "It's great to see so many people will be showing off their talents over the festive season.
