This past weekend was interesting. I went to my step daughter's birthday party that was at her mom's house. For some women this would be a no-no but for me it was possibly the beginning of a good thing; two grown women acting like adults.
I was unsure of how this situation would go considering I've been ignored by this woman before but I am happy to say that everything was great! She loved the dresses that I picked out for my step daughter, and she even offered me a drink; I was impressed. We still have a little more to accomplish because we don't know each other very well but so far so good. Grown women must learn how to put their feelings to the side sometimes and think about what's best for the children. I wouldn't be preaching this if it was not something that I had to learn myself. Life is too short; can we all just get along?
Now I just need Zahara's dad and "step mom" to let go of their unnecessary anger and get on board with this blended family movement.
