If you are following my blog and Instagram, you might have come to know my new found love i.e. Korean Dramas (K-Dramas). It’s been more than six months I have started watching Korean dramas and love it till the core.
It has become my small happy world where I can relieve my boredom, stress, and moods. The Korean dramas are lively and vibrant, cute and funny which makes it worth your time.
There is something for every type of audience; even my husband enjoys watching K-dramas.
I know what is going on in your mind:
- Yes! There is a language barrier because of which I didn’t even try to watch, although I knew about the K-drama popularity long before.
- Also, the subtitle is tedious.
- And then the Korean names which are difficult to remember
- Korean faces (No offense, but it felt as if I had face blindness)
But once you start watching, I can assure that all these thoughts will fade away as the content is rich and entertaining. Now even if few of them are available in English and Hindi, still I prefer the Korean language because the emotions are well portrayed originally.
As we all are going through a pandemic crisis and staying quarantined, this is the best time to try something new which will give some relief. So, why not try binge-watching Korean dramas as there are many reasons to tune in this part of the leisure world.
Also, let me tell you that K-dramas are in huge demand and globally popular. Read the reasons below:

Unlike the Indian television shows which go on for years, K- dramas wrap up in 16-20 episodes.
Also, having a second season is rare, so you don’t need to wait longer which makes it different from American series.
Each episode duration is 1 hour and you can complete the entire drama in 2-3 days. So, quarantine and chill these dramas in the comfort of your home.
2) Filled with drama and cliff-hangers
As they have short dramas so there is no dragging and filled with dramas. Each episode ends with twists and turns which makes the viewers intrigued to watch the next one.
There are a lot of cliff-hangers that will make you crave more to watch the next episode.
It has happened to me during the initial time, where I couldn’t wait and keep watching. But then I realized that it is made for our entertainment and we should not get addicted, so now I watch only when I have free time.
3) A paradise for Rom-Com Lovers

If you love watching romantic comedy content, then K-dramas are perfect for you as it has many of them.
Romance is the pivotal medium which you will find in almost all of the K-dramas irrespective of any genre.
The actors and the characters are cute and funny which makes the Korean shows light-hearted and mood-lifters.
4) A Family entertainer

One can enjoy watching K-dramas with the whole family as their all shows are meant for a family entertainer. Even you can watch the most romantic ones, because they are high in emotions but not explicit.
South Korea is a tad conservative country likes ours- India, so you won’t find love-making scenes and nudity, only some cute kisses and love.
Also, no foul language is used which makes the dramas enjoyable for a family considering all age groups.
5) Culture and language
Yeah! Korean shows display the life of the Korean people and their culture, which allows knowing about them. We get to know their traditions and values, culture and language which you will adore once you start watching it.
We now know many words like thank you, sorry, hello, yes, no and much more. Also, few of their tradition, such as they always bow down when thanking or feeling sorry.
When we first saw, we use to feel how often they bend and express their emotions but now it has become a norm for us. Furthermore, soju which is their national drink, we came to know through Korean shows and they look aside when drinking.
Respect is an integral part of Korean life.
6) Candy actors and skin beauty

All the actors look attractive and beautiful, but what makes them apart from our Indian stars is their natural beauty. Even with the minimum make-up, their skin glows and you will not find a single spot.
They are more focused on skincare rather than cosmetic and they religiously follow it. This is the reason K-beauty (Korean beauty) is world-famous and you will also get inspired to follow a proper skincare routine.
