Why, Yes, I Will Eat That Chocolate Chip Cookie!

Chocolatey chip deliciousness!

I have a rule, more a policy, really, that how many treats I eat in a day is related to how much time I have to exercise. Of course, this policy is violated more often than I care to admit, and very often, the culprit is a chocolate chip cookie.

I love baked goods. I love chocolate, so it stands to reason that the chocolate chip cookie would be one of my favorite cookies. I once wrote an article that dealt partly with the history of the chocolate chip cookie.

I’m also a bit particular about my chocolate chip cookies. While I do like oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, I generally prefer my chocolate chip cookies to just have chocolate chips or chunks of chocolate. I don’t want that chocolatey taste diluted with nuts, or some other kind of flavored chips (I’m looking at you, butterscotch!), candy, or dried fruit. And, don’t even think about skimping on the chocolate. There must be a good chunk of chocolate in each bite. Nothing worse than getting a cookie with just two or three chips in it.

I saw this beauty at a cafe I occasionally write in when I’m in that part of town.  Browned-butter-chocolate-chunk-topped-with-sea-salt deliciousness that was perfect with coffee I’ll definitely be back.
