It’s no surprise that the OKC thunder are the favorite to win the Western Conference for a second straight season. I don’t usually agree with favorites but in this case I must. To me, there are no other teams in the west that can compete and defeat the Thunder in a 7 game series. The Clippers, who currently are 3rd in the west, would definitely have a big weakness against Oklahoma City. That weakness is guarding Kevin Durant. Chris Paul would match up with Westbrook and LA would have Caron Butler guarding Durant and simply does not have the speed to keep up with Durant. San Antonio, currently second in the west, would definitely not be able to keep up with the pace of OKC due to the old age and aging of the Spurs core three (Parker, Ginobli and Duncan). Unless a big upset happens, expect the Thunder to come out of the West, again.
