Why I Love...Between Shades of Gray
Why I Love Wednesdays... Underrated BooksWith the "Best of" lists around the corner and winners of the Goodreads awards announced, I just had to spotlight a book that I think should be on every "best of" list out there.  Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys is such a lovely and touching read.  I think anyone who does not read this book is missing out.
Set during WWII, 15 year-old Lina is yanked from her home because the powers that be considered her family Anti-Soviet.  We get a glimpse of the monstrosities inflicted by Joseph Stalin.  Yet, the beauty of this book is in the lovely writing which manages to tell a powerful story through the eyes of a wonderful character.
