Why I Love...Lady Julia Grey
Okay before I get started, I will admit that I feel as if I am cheating on Jo March, Ann of Green Gables, Lula (from the Stephanie Plum series), Emma, and all my other faves. But most of us are moody readers and I can't give up this opportunity to gush about Lady Julia Grey.
Do you recognize the name? Well I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't because I just met her yesterday. I don't know if I can do her justice as I am in the middle of the book right now. This character just makes me laugh out loud. I LOVES it!
This spunky Victorian Lady might blow out a few windows but she is loyal and willing to stand by her man. She's a tough and tenacious and I can identify with her stubbornness. She isn't perfect by any means (I can't stand perfect people). But perhaps what I like more than her penchant for getting into trouble is her intelligence. I like kick-a$$ female leads like the next person but I LOVE intelligent female leads most of all. While I adore Stephanie Plum, she's kind of just on the lucky side. Scarlett O'Hara impresses me because she never gave up, but she had to depend on her beauty to get ahead. Lady Julia is just plain ole smart. Oh and she blows things up. And she outsmarts her smart husband. Today...She's my favorite character. This is one character that that I'm not going to forget when this book ends.
What about you? Who are your favorite characters? Do they change over time or do you have one go to fave? Feel free to create your own post or leave a comment with your answer!
