Why 93% Of People Suffer Through School!

Like myself, many people have had negative experiences while going to school.

Because the way of teaching wasn’t consistent with your individual way of learning, you may of had difficulties with different subjects.

You may have experienced under-achievement and even failure. You may have experienced negative comparisons with others who were getting excellent grades while you were struggling just to get by in your classes.

You may gone through the agony of poor report cards, failed tests and examinations, repetition of classes and courses and a general feeling of inferiority when it came to learning new subjects.

Well, your not alone.

This just happens to describe the school experiences of about 70% to 80% of the general population.

Fortunately, we have learned more in the last 15 years about how the brain functions, and how to learn well then we have learned in all of human history.

And what we know is that our current methods of teaching by no means fit in with what we know about how the brain really works.

They work for a small number of students and leave the rest of students under-educated and under-motivated.

No wonder that most people leave school determined never to submit them selfs to this sort of learning situation again.With modern learning techniques its all different.

When you learn and practice the scientific learning techniques and learn the the unique ways you were designed to learn you will be able to absorb and retain huge quantities of information and you will be able to amaze yourself and all those around.

Work done by Dr. Howard Gardner at Harvard University points to the fact that we have not just one intelligence – but seven.

Each intelligence is of similar importance in reaching our full human potential.

Lets look at those seven important intelligences.

They are common sense.

We can recognize them as natural talents, which each of us has to a greater of lesser extent.

1. Linguistic Intelligence – talent with language. Reading, writing, talking and public speaking.

2. Mathematical & Logical Intelligence – talent with numbers, logic, systems, and math.

3. Visual & Spatial Intelligence – the ability to imagine or picture in the minds eye.

4. Musical Intelligence – talent with creating and interpreting music and rhythm.

5. Bodily & Physical Intelligence – physical talent to run, dance, build and construct with the hands.

6. Inter-Personal Intelligence – social talent and communication skills.

7. Intra-Personal Intelligence – the ability of inner control, planning, goals, and self-analysis.I

t is worth spending a few minutes looking at this list of seven intelligences or talents again.Be aware that they are of equal Value.

Previously, intelligence was defined much more narrowly. It was mostly related to academic performance.

Yet academic subjects are largely taught through just two intelligences.

The linguistic and mathematical/logical intelligences. Academic success is indeed one way of demonstrating intelligence. In the real world, however, it is far from the only way

In conclusion, you all have the capacity you need to be an excellent learner.

The basic capacity of a human brain to learn is limitless.

Most people, however, use only a fraction of their true potential.

We can only hope that the education systems of the future be designed to ensure that people learn in ways that suit their unique mix of capabilities.
