Who's "carrying" the Habs Offense

By Kicks @Chrisboucher73
Offensive-zone entries
"Line carries" is a new micro-stat I began tracking following the Olympic break. Line carries includes all instances when a player carries the puck over either the offensive-blueline, the redline, or the defensive-blueline. Within the system players do not receive any credit in terms of successful event for a line-carry, as the data is used solely to establish individual player tendencies.
Offensive-zone entries as indicated in the graph below, represents the number of times per-minute played a player carries the puck over the offensive-blueline, and into the offensive-zone; only even-strength events are included here (although all things tracked at ES are also tracked on the powerplay, and shorthanded.
OFFENSIVE-ZONE ENTRIES PER-MINUTE PLAYED
Surprisingly, Francis Bouillon leads all Montreal defensemen in o-zone entries per-minute played since the Olympic break. He's followed by PK Subban, and Jarred Tinordi.
Among centres, Tomas Plekanec has produced the most offensive-zone entries per-minute, while Max Pacioretty, Brendan Gallagher, and Rene Bourque lead all wingers. George Parros has yet to carry the puck into the offensive-zone.

SUCCESSFUL OFFENSIVE-ZONE PASSES OFF OF THE RUSH PER-MINUTE PLAYED
I also separate offensive-zone passes into passes off of the rush, cycle passes, east/west passes, and passes to the slot. The graph included here shows the number of successful passes off of the rush (first pass after carrying the puck into the offensive-zone) each Montreal player has produced per-minute played.
Pacioretty leads all Habs players in successful passes off of the rush per-minute played. Despite producing only the third-most offensive-zone entries among centres, and the eighth-most overall, David Desharnais has contributed the second-most successful passes off of the rush per-minute played.
Lars Eller has contributed the fewest successful passes off of the rush per-minute among centres; behind even Ryan White. Other players who've produced a limited amount of successful passes off of the rush include; Brandon Prust, Dale Weise, and Travis Moen.
Bouillon has the most successful passes off of the rush among d-men; followed by PK Subban.

SUCCESS-RATE
Since this micro-stat has been tracked, Bouillon, Alexei Emelin, and Subban have completed 100% of their passes off of the rush. That said, all 3 players are working with small sample sizes.
Desharnais leads all forward with a 78.9% success-rate when attempting a pass off of the rush. He's followed by Gallagher (72.7%), and Briere (70%).
Brandon Prust has completed only 25% of his passes off of the rush, with Weise having completed only 40%.

These reports can be produced for any player at any level. All that's required is video. Feel free to contact me by e-mail with any questions, comments, or inquiries about the services I provide.
