Posted on the 20 July 2020 by Jyoti92 @Jyoti_Chauhan1

This is a Whizlabs annual subscription plan review. Is it priced fairly? Do you get what you pay for? Is it worth it? Well, we’ll see.

In these trying times (with the COVID-19 situation), the world has come to a halt, your learning and skills don’t have to.

Out of all the companies and organizations, why did I pick Whizlabs?

Well, here’s a reason.

100+ courses, in 20+ categories

What exactly can you learn with Whizlabs?

It  offers over 100+ courses in the following categories:

  • AWS
  • Azure
  • Google Cloud
  • DevOps
  • Java
  • Linux
  • Big Data
  • Cyber Security
  • Project Management
  • Blockchain
  • Blue Prism
  • Agile
  • Business Analysis

Each of these have around half a dozen courses in each category.

E.g. Cloud Computing offers- Amazon AWS, Cloud Security, Salesforce, Alibaba Cloud etc.

DevOps offers the highest number of courses, OpenShift basics, Puppet 206, Jenkins Basic, Vagrant basic, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer professional etc. are included.

Similarly, Business Analytics has ECBA, CCBA, CBAP and PMI-PBA certifications.

Apart from the above-listed categories and courses. new courses are added frequently as well.

Going by the diversity of the courses? Well, I’m happy.

How much does the Whizlabs annual subscription plan cost?

The Whizlabs Annual Subscription plan costs exactly $99.00 for a year.

Is it worth the money? To me, yes, I’d say it is.

But, why so?

What exactly do you get with the Annual subscription?

Let’s discuss the benefits in brief?

Truly unlimited access, to everything

Unlike other online certification and course-offering platforms, Whizlabs’ subscription is universal.

Meaning, there are no “upgrades” required after the subscription.

No other plans exist.

There’s no “restricted” content for which you’d need to pay more.

You don’t need to buy access to different courses separately and repeatedly.

You truly get 100% unlimited access to all the courses, practice tests and hands-on labs available on the platform with the premium support.

Practical tests, Online courses  and AWS hands-on labs

Practice Tests in my opinion are the best way to check our preparation before going for the exam.

Simply “reading” or voluntary learning isn’t enough, is it?

Well, Whizlabs has practice tests.

Practice tests are designed by SMEs to simulate the real exam scenario. All the practice questions are based on the exam syllabus outlined by official documentation. The questions that appear in each practice test are unique and not repeated in other practice tests. Whizlabs practice tests are provided to the candidates to gain more confidence on exam preparation and self-evaluate them against the exam content.

Whizlabs Online Courses helps professionals to prepare themselves for the actual certification exam. One needs to go through all the training videos & appear in all the practice tests to get fully prepared for the certification exam. This will make you confident for the exam, and thus you will be able to pass the exam in the first attempt.

There are virtual environments for you to test whatever you’ve learnt.

It requires “points” to start a lab.

They’re giving free access to labs to test our knowledge on the AWS environment.

Each yearly subscription to the annual Whizlabs plan also has enough points to access all the labs.

Whizlabs plan also has enough

So again, no additional payments required. It’s all included in the annual plan.

Although not a major factor, yet, you also save bandwidth so that’s there.

Cross-platform access

Why be limited to computers?

Imagine this, you’re on your couch, with a cup of coffee, and you’re learning career-advancing skills.

Well, that’s another possibility with Whizlabs.

Its annual subscription plan does also allow access to the courses from:

  • Mac
  • iPhone
  • iPad
  • and Android

So, it doesn’t matter which device you’re on, the courses can be accessed, period.

24 hours support

The one other aspect of the annual subscription is that there’s 24-hour premium support.

Hey, regardless of your experience and knowledge, it’s only natural that you may come across questions and doubts.

There’s a support team available 24-hours to answer any questions and doubts you may have.

Certification

How will you put these skills up for display?

With the Whizlabs certifications.

For most of its courses, you’re awarded a certification.

It’s signed by the Whizlabs CEO himself!

So basically, you learn, you pass a test, and have something to show for it.

Imagine attaching all of these certifications when applying next for that job you’ve always dreamt of.

Does increase the chances, doesn’t it?

Multi-user support- Business accounts

You’ve got a team?

Own a company maybe?

The Business account lets you add 5+ other users to your account.

Why learn alone when you can learn together, right?

Or, get your employees/team-members certified maybe?

Breaking down the $99.00 price tag

Let’s see how much it actually costs to subscribe to the Whizlabs annual subscription plan?

$99.00/year equals $8.25/month.

I’ve counted over 57 courses at the least, and I’m sure it offers more.

Either way, even with just 57 courses, you’re paying $0.14/course/month!

Now, THAT’S CHEAP!

Let’s put it this way, if you were learning the same courses at an offline institute, $0.14/month for a course wouldn’t even cover your travel expenses.

More importantly, you’re technically paying $0.14/month for ALL the courses.

Because, you can choose to learn any course of your choice.

Even switch courses mid-way if you feel like it.

In my opinion, the comfort of my couch, anytime access, repeated classes as many times as I want, tests and the certifications are without doubt totally worth $0.14/month.

Wouldn’t you agree?

What I love about it?

They even offer refunds if you can prove that the course couldn’t help you pass an actual exam.

Now, that I believe is quite the guarantee by itself, isn’t it?

Final Verdict- Is Whizlabs annual  subscription plan worth it?

I wouldn’t say it’s the cheapest online learning platform.

I’m sure cheaper alternatives exist.

But, considering the courses and all the other features offered, I’d say it’s a pretty reasonable deal.

And hey, we spend more than $8.25/month just on coffee, don’t we? Coffee is important, but self-education? Importanter (That’s not a word, I know, I’m making a point.)

Worst-case scenario? You get a refund.

So yes, it’s worth it.
