Whisky Review – Bluebird Distilling Four Grain Bourbon

You can't swing a cat without hitting a brewery or disti llery in the Philadelphia metropolitan area! It's a good problem to have, especially when these brewers and distillers are kind enough to share their wares with us. And speaking of sharing...

Bluebird Distilling of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania (30 miles west of Philadelphia) was kind enough to send us a bottle (via Punch Media) of their Four Grain Bourbon Whiskey. Here's what the distillery had to say about this whiskey:

Our Four Grain Bourbon is made from the finest blend of corn, rye, wheat and barley. We mash the grains, distill only once and age the bourbon in new charred American oak Barrels. This process creates an exceptionally balanced, incredibly delicious, one-of-a-kind, bourbon.

Tasting Notes:
Nose: Sweet Spice, Oak, Vanilla
Palate: Sweet Corn, Smoke, Vanilla
Finish: Medium dry finish of toffee and butterscotch

Awards:
Bronze- American Craft Spirits Competition
Bronze- Berlin International Spirits Competition

All of that sounds delicious, and when you factor in the pretty bottle and labeling, we went in to this tasting with high hopes. To find out if this whiskey lived up to our expectations, tune in to the latest episode of A Tasting at The Murder Table by clicking the play button on the following video...
