In conjunction with the U.S. Open kicking off this week, the USGA has launched a new campaign focused on addressing pace of play and its impact on the game. With a lighthearted, comic approach, and the theme "While We're Young" (from Rodney Dangerfield in Caddyshack) the campaign hopes to encourage golfers to join a movement to improve pace of play and reduce the amount of time it takes to play.
The campaign features three-time U.S. Open champion Tiger Woods, Academy Award winning actor/director Clint Eastwood, 1960 U.S. Open champion and golf icon Arnold Palmer, three-time U.S. Women's Open champion Annika Sorenstam, 2010 U.S. Women's Open champion Paula Creamer, and famed American golf instructor Butch Harmon.
Here's a look at a two of the five videos, to view all videos and for more information about this campaign, visit www.usga.org/whilewereyoung. You can also join the conversation with us on Twitter using #WhileWereYoung.
USGA has done a great job with these videos, taking a lighthearted approach to a serious topic; although there is one person missing from their videos who in my opinion, is a no brainer for this topic. Last year, PGA Tour pro Ben Crane released a great video where he addresses the impact slow play has had on his game and the steps he's taking to help overcome it. Have a look:
