In constant contact with humidity, shower curtains must be cleaned often, because traces of water eventually turn into mold stains. The lack of ventilation doesn’t help either. To overcome this problem and keep them in good condition, it would be wise to wash them at least every three months.
Here are the steps for proper cleaning:
- Fill the tub with cold water, add a cup of white vinegar and a cup of baking soda. This duo is powerful enough to eliminate all stains, fight against the harmful effects of limescale and prevent the formation of mold.
- Insert the curtains inside and stir well so that they soak up the cleaning solution.
- Use a brush to remove stubborn stains.
- Once the curtains are completely clean, rinse them thoroughly with cold water.
- If you can, lay them out in the open in a bright spot. The sun will help banish all traces of moisture.
