…and the nominees from the restaurant industry are: Dunkin Donuts, Taco Bell, Denny’s, Wendy’s (for two separate campaigns) and Applebee’s. Cue applause, and a quick camera shot of Jennifer Lawrence with her head thrown back laughing, spilling a Pepsi or something.
The Shorty Awards are given to brands who do a good job with social media. The finalists (and there are a lot of them, for a lot of categories, including “Best Use of Social Media by One Brand Responding to Another Brand”) range from Al Jazeera America to Charmin.
So these are the categories your restaurant marketers got nominations in. If I were a judge, I would award the Taco Bell Beefy Crunch Burrito (in the Best Use of Humor in Food and Beverage category), and I would give some kind of nod to the Denny’s Tumblr which has a great spirit.
