In order to pass the 100 questions on the SGO-001CompTIA
Storage+ Powered by SNIA certification exam, IT professionals should have at
least one year of experience working hands-on with technical storage.
Additionally, it is recommended that each candidate taking the exam have each
of the following certifications before attempting to take the test: CompTIA A+,
CompTIA Server+, and CompTIA Network+. Though none of these recommendations are
required, candidates may find that this type of experience better prepares them
for the questions they will face on their certification exam.
In addition to previous work experience, candidates may find greater success if they are willing to undergo some type of exam preparation. CompTIA offers authorized training courses for the candidate who has the time to fit them into their schedule. For busier candidates, the ability to use the company's eLearning or self-study materials (here) are recommended prior to taking the test. Additionally, the exam preparation provided by ExamTrace are recommended to help increase a candidate's understanding of the test material.
A total score of at least 720 is required on the exam. During the 90 minute exam, candidates will be tested on their knowledge of archive, restoration, and backup concepts. Questions will focus on business continuity, system integration, storage administration, system administration, and application workload. Also, candidates must understand the concepts related to troubleshooting connectivity issues and referencing documentation. Xoxo, M.
