Where in the World? No.4. #Washington Where in the World? is our new occasional series in which Adam, The Daily Constitutional’s Editor is logging the locations of his London Walkers. “We meet people from all over the world, and I thought it would be fun to map them out to create a picture of where our London Walkers (and Daily Constitutionalists) come from. We’ll be breaking it down by English and Welsh counties, Scottish regions, Irish provinces, U.S States, Canadian provinces, Australian states, European, Asian, African and South American countries. Good to meet Scott from Washington State on the Ghosts of the Old City Walk. Scott’s being joining us on London Walks for 20 years and was passing through on his way to Prague. We hope you had a great trip Scott, safe journey and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

American broadcaster Edward R. Murrow was raised in Washington State, in Skagit County. His famous sign-off line from his wartime London broadcasts – “Good night… and good luck” – is woven into the fabric of the American war legend. Here he is broadcasting from Trafalgar Square  during an air raid…

Where in the World? No.4. #Washington
Jimi Hendrix, born in Seattle, used London as his springboard to international fame, gigging here in ’66 and ’67. Hendrix features prominently on the Rock’n’Roll London Walk and he too is the recipient of a Blue Plaque, in Brook Street.
