Celebrities who are reported to be learning French language is not very new to us. On 2006, the famous Johnny Depp, main actor of The Pirates of the Caribbean movies, The Tourist, and others have decided to learn French for the sake of his children. During that time, he was staying in a European country along with his partner Vanessa Paradis who happened to be a French language speaker. His children are also very fluent in French, that’s why he decided to take actions “so his children will not think he is stupid”.
Yes, he still had struggles in learning French. If he had taken the option to go for foreign language courses, well, the news didn’t mention it; but all we know is that he tried so hard coping up and learning the language with all enthusiasm.
Today, the latest news about celebrities learning French language now gets its spotlight to Angelina Jolie. According to Indo-Asian News Service, “actress Angelina Jolie is learning French as all her six children can speak the language fluently.” Wow, this is almost the same with Depp’s case then. He was learning French because his children are fluent in French language.
Jolie, mother of six children, Maddox, 10, Pax, eight, Zahara, six, Shiloh, five and three-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne spent more time with her kids during these times already. “I’ve been writing and staying with the kids. I think I should learn French and be a better cook – basic really good life stuff. I’m always doing something. I never shut my brain off. I always have something going on,” quoting what she said on a post.
“I’ve been studying French on and off my whole life, and I figured, my kids can speak it, and it’s embarrassing that I can’t as well as they can, so now…” she added.
Isn’t it great that famous actors and actresses decided to bridge their language barrier? They’re no different from us, actually. Whether we are celebrities or not, as long as we decide to learn French, we can if we do it for some certain reasons.
