Hi everyone! Today's tip is something that will help you gain or maintain aggression when you get that cross-court angle to the "hole" (or open court) and are drawn out wide. Instead of hitting a lob or cross-court return, drive the ball down the line and try to force the error or at least set yourself up for a winning follow up shot.
Going down the line is a great shot choice when you're pulled out wide because your opponent at net has less time to react to the ball, and more than likely, she won 't be expecting it. And when (or IF) she gets it back, you or your partner should hit the ball right back to her because she will not have fully recovered from the previous shot. Likewise...if you're the player at the net, try and hit right back to the player who hit it to you (and deep) because she won't have fully recovered either.
Alternatively, the lob would be a better choice if you're moving out wide and can't get a good piece of the ball.
