What Were You Thinking? by @NPRDina

By Pamelascott

Parents, or 12-24 year old selves; this intrepidly reported, six-part audio show hosted by NPR journalist Dina Temple-Raston, discover the new science that reveals how the brains of 12-to-24-year-olds are literally hard-wired to make dumb decisions, and meet a teenage jihadist who is living with the terrible consequences of immature decision-making.

Declared "a must-listen for every parent" by The Washington Post, the full series is available now.

This was interesting to listen to though not quite what was promised by the blurb. The blurb implies this audio show will focus on science and how the brains of young people are wired to make bad choices. This isn't quite true. Each episode features a teenager who has made bad choices including one of the Columbine shooters. Most of the episode is taken up with recounting events and interviewing family, friends etc. There are a couple minutes of science insight shoe-horned in at the end. I wanted more scientific insight. Still, this was enjoyable and a wide array of topics is discussed.
