Plot: A family of four is quarantined in their home as a virulent strand of the flu spreads into town and they are forced to the extreme to escape alive.

Story: What We Become starts as we meet Gustav (Engell) and his family, Dino (Lyby), Pernille (Dinesen) and Maj (Solgaard). He discovers he has a new neighbour across the street the similarly aged beautiful Sonja (Boda). Gustav looks to welcome her to the neighbourhood.
However, when a mysterious virus starts spreading around the town, the military moves in to make sure it remains contained. When Gustav finds his family contained in his home, along with their neighbours. He decides to investigate only to discover a much dark truth behind what is happening.
Verdict on What We Become
What We Become is a horror thriller following a couple of families who find themselves in the middle of a mysterious viral outbreak. They are quarantined within their homes before events outside change how the military are dealing with everything.
This is an interesting new way to tell the typical outbreak story. It does have elements of many zombie movies, mixed with ‘Right at Your Door’. The movie does a great job of showing the uncertainty the families are feeling with the changes and how things can spiral out of control quickly. It has a great atmosphere throughout the movie, which adds to the wider spread of what is going on.
Final Thoughts –What We Become is a tense atmospheric twist on the infection spreading movie.
