The question was posed: “What was Adam like before the fall?” The brief answer is: “You have no idea!”
He had everything. All things created by God the Father were placed under Adam’s feet, his command and he was intimate with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit in completeness and openness. Before the fall Adam was deified in toto, with only God above him in hierarchy, as he was filled with the Divine Light in fullness.
Sinful man cannot even begin to conceive a fraction of the heaven - the love, bliss, luxury and incomparable joy - in which Adam lived. But the latter chose to lose it all out of his own free-will, in the hope that he could also become equal to God - a physical impossibility.
