With summer on the horizon, the calendar is beginning to fill up with everything from trips, to weddings to parties. Let’s just say, it’s going to be a busy summer filled with LOTS of fun things.
With all of these fun summer events coming up, I like to start planning ahead for what to wear to all of these fun events. I mean when there are summer parties on the calendar it’s difficult not to think about what to wear.
‘What to Wear to Summer Parties’ is a question that I often get asked and to be 100% honest, it’s always such a tricky time of year to get dressed due to the warm temperatures. When it comes to getting dressed in the summer, specifically for parties, I like to wear something that is free flowing, usually has a print and of course sleeveless.
When I saw this pleated white skirt at Express, I knew that it would be the perfect summer staple. The pleats flow in the wind, the white skirt can easily be dressed up or down and pairs perfectly with everything from the striped blue and white sleeveless top that I am wearing in the photos to this white slim fit sheer blouse (I mean how beautiful would it be!).
Now, for the trickier half of the summer party wardrobes…how do guys dress for summer parties? With the boys it’s just a lost cause when it comes to being a ‘comfortable’ temperature. I mean it’s hot out and I love nothing more than when my husband wears a sport coat…especially when it is the shade of blue like this one from Express. Not only do I love the slim fit pale blue sport coat from Express but I also love the way he paired it with a classic white shirt and a navy pant. To me, this look is perfect summer look that is great for all summer occasions and IF he needed to dress it up even more, he could just add a tie and he would be good to walk out the door!
