What’s on TCM: February 2017Happy February, everyone! As any regular TCM viewer knows, February is traditionally TCM’s 31 Days of Oscar month. I’m well aware that this tends to be a love it or hate it type of month, and while I’m always disappointed that it means few silent films will be shown, there are always plenty of other movies to keep me entertained throughout the month.

This year, all the movies included in 31 Days of Oscar will be shown in alphabetical order. As if that weren’t enough, all the movies scheduled during prime time are grouped together by a common theme, which will also be in alphabetical order ranging from “addiction” to “zany.”

Without further ado, let’s take a closer look at the schedule.

February 1: Since we’re going in alphabetical order, we start with a day full of A+ movies that all begin with the letter A, including Adam’s Rib at 8:00 AM, The Adventures of Robin Hood at 12:15 PM, After the Thin Man at 2:00 PM, All About Eve at 8:00 PM, An American in Paris at 10:30 PM, and Annie Hall at 12:30 AM.

February 2: Today’s “B” game isn’t too shabby, either. Bachelor Mother at 4:00 PM, The Bad and the Beautiful at 6:00 PM, and The Band Wagon at 8:00 PM.

February 6: Silent films don’t tend to get much representation during 31 Days of Oscar, so if you’re a silent fan, be sure to mark your calendar for The Crowd at 6:00 PM.
