BOWHOUSE FOOD WEEKEND
A barn conversion on Balcaskie Estate, St Monans in Fife is the place to be for Fife Foodies on 22nd and 23rd July. This is where Bowhouse Food Weekend will be and is hosted in partnership with Fife Farmers' Market and supported by Scotland's Rural College (SRUC) and Food from Fife.
As well as food, there will also be children's entertainment on offer, including face painting and a ceilidh courtesy of St Andrews restaurant Forgan's.
Bowhouse will be an all-season destination for inquisitive foodies to explore Fife's natural larder. It will also provide an inspiring space for food businesses to create their produce, whether that be jams from soft fruit grown in nearby fields, wild game or rape seed oil harvested locally.
One such business is East Neuk-based venture Langoustine the Box, one of the first producers to take a unit at Bownhouse, who will be showcasing shellfish fresh from the waters of Fife over the weekend.
Toby Anstruther, founding member of Food from Fife added: "Bowhouse is a place for making food by transforming the raw ingredients from the East Neuk's farms and waters into exquisite finished products ready for the eager customer. This new initiative aims to replace a missing link in the food chain from farmer to consumer by providing dedicated space for producers as well as a large, covered market where food makers and growers can showcase their produce. It will be a collaborative, creative space where connections are made and businesses and consumers can share their passion for fine food."
