Apple TV+ launched just under a year ago. At first, the selection of titles was underwhelming, but over its initial 11 months, the service has added a decent selection of movies and shows, with more on the horizon. It hasn't quite filled out yet, but it is making steady progress. Here are a few of the most recent titles that you should be excited about.

Our top picks for September
Long Way Up
Long Way Up is the third installment in Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman's motorcycle odyssey series. Long Way Round and Long Way Down premiered in 2004 and 2007, respectively, and now the show finally gets a third installment through Apple TV+. In this edition, the best friends have swapped out their regular bikes for a pair of electric motorcycles. The first episode is dedicated to the duo reconnecting and planning the logistics of their new trip - which goes from the southern tip of Argentina to Los Angeles. It's a good nostalgia trip for fans of the series and a wholesome bromance to boot.

Tehran
Tehran was released on September 25 and is an eight-episode espionage thriller staring Niv Sultan ( Flawless), Shaun Toub ( Homeland), and Navid Negahban ( Legion, Aladdin). The show is part of Apple's ongoing project of bringing more international stories to mainstream audiences. The show has a lot of popular stars and industry leaders behind it, and we're betting it will blow us away when it drops.

Ted Lasso
Ted Lasso is a sports comedy starring SNL alum Jason Sudekis. The show is based on a character of the same name that Sudekis portrayed for ads of NBC Sports' coverage of the English Premier League - the top level of England's football system. Lasso is an American football coach who is hired to coach a struggling team in the Premier League. Lasso is set up to fail, having no experience with the sport at all, but his relentless kindness and team smarts might just see him - and the team - come out on top. Critics and audiences were skeptical of the show at first, but quickly fell in love with its lovable cast and overall charm. Ted Lasso released in August of 2020 and was renewed for a second season five days later.

Looking ahead for Apple TV+
Apple TV+ isn't quite as competitive as some of its other streaming service competitors. That isn't a huge deal, namely because it is significantly cheaper - especially once Apple One hits later this year. However, the service does have some exciting stuff coming later this year and early in 2021.
Paul Rudd will narrate the nature docuseries Tiny World coming in October. Wolfwalkers is an animated series coming later this year, and Foundation - based on the series of books by Isaac Asimov - comes early next year.
