It's the latest edition of " What's in My Bag?! " - Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM. I'm restarting this blog post series once a month so be on the lookout! If you have a specific bag that you want me to review (and I own it), then let me know! Next bags in line are the Hermes Kelly 28 and Hermes Birkin 30.

What’s in My Bag // LV Neverfull MMSIZE and PRICING

This is the Louis Vuitton Neverful MM in the Monogram canvas material with a beige interior. Current retail cost is $1260. (I literally gasped when I saw this price because I purchased it for $680 in 2008!) It is also available in Damier Azure Canvas, Damier Ebene Canvas, and Epi leather options. It is a medium sized tote with adjustable side straps (as seen above). When opened, there is one large compartment and a slim pocket as well as a detachable zippered clutch pochette. (My version did not have that option.) The dimension is approximately 12.6″ L x 11.4″ H x 6.7″ W. For reference, I am 5'4″ {but usually wearing heels}. This size fits the whole kitchen sink! It can be nicknamed the ALWAYS FULL!

This bag also come in a PM size (smaller- 11.4″L x 8.7″H x 5.1″W) and GM size (larger- 15.7″L x 13.0″H x 7.9″W) priced at $1180 and $1340, respectively.

AESTHETICS and CONSTRUCTION

My feelings are that you either love the LV monogram or you don't. I have been a fan since a young one, and this was my first Louis Vuitton bag. One of the things I appreciate about Louis Vuitton is that their bags look better with age.

The actual monogram portion is a coated canvas and NOT leather. I know right! How can they charge so much for canvas? Well, it's because this canvas is built like a tank. As mentioned in previous "What's in My Bag" posts, I do NOT baby my bags. The canvas looks BRAND NEW after over 8 years of wear and tear! Obviously, I haven't subjected it to fire as I'm sure not many bags could withstand that!

The leather trim has a wonderful patina and has endured being used as a diaper bag, rainstorms, and my past kitty (Toby) slightly trying to gnaw on it. At the time of purchase, the sales associate told me that the straps were capable of carrying up to 50 pounds since I was concerned about the thin straps and durability.

The only flaws are the straps on the side of the pocket flap are separately a bit from the bag. I realized it's likely from overload that flap with things like my cell phone, keys, protein bars, sunglasses, etc. I haven't brought my bag in for an estimate of how much it would be to repair, but I can update this blog post when I do.

FUNCTIONALITY

This is by far my most utilized bag for everyday use. It is EXTREMELY functional and fits SO MUCH (as stated above). It easily fits my LV Vernis long wallet, small GIGI makeup bag, phone, keys, hand sanitizer, small backpack for Baby Girl's diapers and things, and sunglasses with case. I can fit my 15″ laptop in it also! (I have this hard glitter case so I don't have to use a sleeve and it takes up less room.) Since the interior is also canvas, it's been very durable.

As shown in the pictures, the side straps can be adjusted to make it a "smaller" tote. Although it's super cute like that, I rarely wear it in that manner because I have so many things that I literally throw into it.

It can be worn on the shoulder which is surprisingly comfortable with the skinny straps (unless you have the bag overfilled) and can also be worn in the crook of the arm.

Some complain about the bag losing it's tote shape when you have items in it i.e. the bottom sagging down. That has never bothered me, but you can purchase a bottom insert to prevent it. As with the Mansur Gavriel bucket bag, things can get lost when thrown into a tote. There are handbag organizers to prevent that also. I don't find that it's a problem, but I throw bigger items in there (like kid's blankets, etc.).

This is an extremely lightweight bag, but I find it gets heavy because I really OVERLOAD it. So that's more of a problem with me than the bag!

SOS RATING

FOUR GOLD STARS {out of five}! I took off one star because of the CURRENT price. WOW! That's gone up a lot! This is an all around FANTASTIC bag. It was one of my first major designer handbag purchases, and I have never regretted it. I almost feel like it should be a staple in every woman's closet, but that's a little extreme.

Do you own the LV Neverfull (aka Alwaysfull)? What are your feelings on the bag?
