What Makes the Perfect Faux Fur?

I’m getting a little bit bitter about still not having found the ultimate faux fur coat yet.. I’ve tried some, bought some, but still haven’t found that perfect one I want to live in yet. It’s not completely the world’s fault though, when it comes to faux fur I have a few demands. Here’s what would make the perfect faux fur for me..

- It needs to have a collar, but one that is not too big and not too small either. A hoodie would be ok as well (last picture!!) but preferably a quite simple collar. It’s actually not that easy to find one that has a good collar.
– It needs to be good quality faux fur. It doesn’t have to look real, but definitely not too fake and synthetic either.
– Color isn’t easy either. I don’t like cream, and somehow a lot of faux fur coats are cream. There are also not many shades of brown that I like. A cool color would be good as well, such as green, gray or navy. Or leopard, of course, but don’t start with me about finding the perfect leopard print (nearly impossible).
– It needs to be affordable. Not cheap, because that usually shows, but not out of proportion-expensive either. This demand is made by my bank account.
– It needs to be big, but not too big. Of course a faux fur coat adds volume to your look, but I don’t want to look like a huge-shouldered yeti either.

As you can see, there’s quite some factors in play when it comes to finding that perfect faux fur. But I’m not giving up! The one Abbey Lee Kershaw is wearing in the second picture above might be my dream coat, but it’s from Anna Sui from a few seasons ago and not exactly within my budget either. Below is a selection of affordable faux furs of which I might give this one a try, since it looks really good..
